LSWEEKLY LiteStep Related News 16.10.99 - 22.10.99 ---------------------------------------------------- This week on the mailing list a disturbing thing happened, a coder was basically yelled at for making a test build of litestep with a new function added. Ahhh, what? I thought that the reason litestep was opensource was so things like this WOULD happen. I realize that some of the other devs may not have wanted it to happen this way but it's not as if it was committed to the cvs and made into an official daily build. It was specifically built and archived somewhere else. It was even clearly stated that it was a test build of LS for the #include function. murphy right now does his preview builds and this seems to be fine, so why isn't this? Look, if you don't like a feature or believe it shouldn't be added or implemented the way it is, don't use it, but please don't get upset at other coders for trying to come up with some new ideas and coding them. - demigod --------------------------- TOP NEWS STORIES --------------------------- - Themeing discussion log posted (12:26pm 19.10) "I haven't seen anyone post the log on their site yet (yeah, I know it's the weekend :), so here it is... minus the joins, parts, and quits. I still don't know what caused it though. "It also features animation support, so you can now have a short animation played when you drop files on it, or you recycle the files. This is of course optional. I still have no good animation for it, but I will hopefully get one this week." %%UPDATE%% (9:13am 21.10) "In response to a bug report, I fixed the !RecyclerVisible command, so that the module won't crash LS if the command is run from LSXCommand without arguments." %%UPDATE%% (10:51am 22.10) "Mostly for the benefit of the non-English-speaking part of the community, I've added support for localization of the module, so that you can define your own text for the menu entries." url - http://hem.passagen.se/jcalvert/software e-mail - jcalvert@hem.passagen.se (source: LS Mailing List ~ Recycler 3.2.0) +---------------+ - LSDesktopWeather 0.52 ~ Fizzie (12:56pm 19.10) - improved behavior when not connected to internet uses separate thread for updating weather, so that the process doesn't affect Litestep's responsiveness - implemented a feature allowing several lines of weather info to be cycled (see DesktopWeatherCycleDelay for more info) - added conditions variable for use in DesktopWeatherFormat (clear, mostly cloudy, etc) - added DesktopWeatherUpdateString, so a custom update string can be used (defaults to "Retrieving weather conditions...") - added 3 new bang commands: !ShowLSDW, !HideLSDW, and !ToggleLSDW url - http://chunkymunky.com/module e-mail - fizzie7@excite.com (source: chunkymunky.com/modulo) +---------------+ - jDesk 0.60 ~ Jugg (12:59pm 19.10) + Added jDeskDesktopFolder (drag & drop) command. - Removed "jDeskSwapMButtons" (too much extra code, just change your commands instead). * Changed the mouse button configuration.
