XSWEEKLY Shell Related News 17.06.00 - 23.06.00 ------------------------------------------------- Whoops! I did it again, I left the letter at work and for some reason my auto upload/backup script didn't kick in. Sorry once again for a late issues, I blame it on M$. As of late, a lot of new of new shells have been popping up but it seems as if there support, both users and third party coders, is to say the least lacking. I realize that LiteStep is one of the most popular shells because of its long life and massive user base but give these new shells a chance. If you don't they will cease to exist and you may never know what your missing. Do you think that LiteStep has always been as popular as it is now? I don't think so. Just because a new shell may be unstable at first, that is just about the time you want to start using it and giving the coder(s) input on what you find wrong with it and what ideas you may have. A project like LiteStep pretty much has all the core features its going to have but a new shell coder would more than likely be happy to include something you want if you do some bug testing for him/her. So my point is, don't shrugs off all these new shell just because there not LiteStep. Give them a chance and I think you will be pleasantly surprised by what you get. - demigod ................................................. -= Shell Specific =- ................................................. ------------------ [ Top News Stories ] ------------------ - stepForum Open For Business (11:07 20.06 na) stepForum is a webboard set up for anyone interested in LiteStep or DarkStep to go and post about news, bugs, themes, anything. New in this version: + Added !ScreenSaverStop bang. * Optimized url - http://floach.pimpin.net/pavel/ e-mail - pavel.vitis@seznam.cz (source: http://floach.pimpin.net/pavel/) +-------<*>-------+ - lsplaylist 20000620 ~ MrJukes (10:36 13.06 ls) This is a full mp3 player in both module and .exe format. The module has all the standard mp3 player functions, all wrapped up into a loadmodule. The app is skinnable, so he's hoping that we'll get as many skinners as possible to put out some skins for playback. New in this version: - Fixed a bug where it would lock up when playing a song with no ID3 data. - Fixed a transparency drawing problem. It would cut off the left part of the image. - Made shuffle a little more random. - Fixed another drawing bug where it would cut off the right part of the image. %%UPDATE%% (12:52 22.06) - Hopefully fixed the mousewheel problem. - Added an equalizer. It is very basic right now, but it works. - Made skinning a lot easier. You should now have a skin.ini in the directory where all the skin images are located. This holds all information about dimensions and images and such. All other user preferences are still in lsplaylist.cfg. You probably want to start over to make sure your skin is compatible. - I made my skin available for download. Try it out, it is much better than the default. - Added skin changing support. Right click in the main window and choose "Change skin". It doesn't even stop the music! - Added something called a GButton. They do nothing at all but are useful for displaying an image in the main window. Look at my skin, playback-skin_jukes.zip for details on how this feature works. url - http://www.cs.purdue.edu/homes/anders/Playback e-mail - mrjukes@purdue.edu (source: http://floach.pimpin.net) +-------<*>-------+ - cdtray 1.0 ~ Pavel (14:40 22.06) cdtray.dll is a simple module that has three functions: eject, close, and toggle.
