個人的には上記のような比較はあまり興味ないのだが、このほど Google が Noop を出してきて、JVM で動く言語も花盛りの感がある。こうしてみると、いっとき Java はもう駄目だと語られていたのを思い出す。昨年、Closure 導入の是非についても Java の行く末を憂う喧しい議論があったのを覚えている方はおられよう。しかし、なんだかんだ言ってみんなプログラムとかプログラム言語が好きなんだなと思う。そういう愛情が感じられる文章を日本では殆ど目にしないのは、僕自身の視野の狭さもあると思うが、残念でならない。ふだんから「ものづくり」なるクソスローガンを、システム開発の末席に着く一人としてあからさまに嘲笑しているわけだが、何事かに拘り続ける姿勢を揶揄するつもりは毛頭無いのである。そのようなメンタリティがなければ、熟練したオペレータにすらなれないだろう。
