Exchange knowledges over languages and nations

Teknidermy is a web-based magazine and it serves articles and interviews about/by/for skinners. Ah yes, I’m not a skinner in a narrow sense nor a graphic designer, though. “Teknidermy” - ? Yes, the chief editor Kenray explains it as that “the art or process of mounting new skins on pre-existing programs for personalization or exhibition”. So this word should be from “taxidermy” (the art of stuffing animals), but surely they do not stuff any animals for making this magazine.

There will be many skinners in Asia and especially in Japan, and you have already known some of works by them. But details, yes it includes ideas or motivations, may not be clear for the language gap. You will want to know about their works “from what”, “for what”, and “by how”. So, I would like to help Teknidermy with (hopefully) my words… If you want to know about your favourite skinner in Japan, please let me know.

“Taxidermy” （剥製術）なんて単語があるとはね。まあそんなこんなで、このウェブマガジンで日本のスキン作家さんやスキニングの事情を伝えることになりました。いよいよドツボという感じがなくもないわけですが、どうぞよろしくお願いします・・・でもちょっと守備範囲がずれるから、少しばかりウェブページで勉強しないといけませんね。Stardock のユーザーさんを中心に考えるなら上路さんをはじめとする何人かのスキン作家さんへインタビューするという案もあります。既にお伺いを立てている方もおられますが、どうなることやら。インターフェイスのデザインで食っている方だと、やはりギャラが出ない場合は難しいかもしれません。それ以前に『Win Graphics』とかのライターさんがこういう記事の執筆をされる方がいいのかもしれません。それで食ってるんだから情報量や背景知識で僕より優れているのは明らかです（ちなみに、「わたくし」という一人称を使うのは書いていて疲れるので止めます＜笑）。もしプロのライターさんで「よし、それなら無給でもやろうじゃないか」という豪気な方がいらっしゃれば、どうぞご連絡下さい。英語は・・・できるに越したことはありません。ていうか添削して下さい（笑。
